As I previously reported, many of us “in the know” (and I was nowhere near as much “in the know” as the people I mention here) were highly skeptical of the Hong Kong NAMI team’s alleged finding of Noah’s Ark on Mt. Ararat, in Turkey, announced in the summer of this past year.
What followed after the initial media releases and consequent public skepticism by people like Dr. Randall Price and Dr. Don Patton, was a barrage of confusing and messed-up statements made in defense by the NAMI team.
Problem was, I was not part of any of the teams, and even I knew that NAMI was publicizing incorrect claims and information. For example, in one of the videos they posted on their website in their defense, the NAMI team claimed they had Panda (one of their team members) visit the alleged ark without the knowledge of Price and Patton. I couldn’t understand how they could say this, because even with my minimal insider information, I knew when Panda was at the location and sending back reports! I was sworn to secrecy at the time and made no mention of it to anyone, because loose lips tend to kill people over in that part of the world.
Again, while I’m not accusing the NAMI team of deliberate fraud, the facts are that they are promoting a fraud, and raising funds to research it. Their reporting and research has been incredibly sloppy, unprofessional, and just plain inaccurate at best. And unfortunately people are still asking about this “find.”
Drs. Price and Patton recently released some public commentary, detailing the facts that they know, as well as some follow-up research. I will simply point to their commentaries, because they have done a splendid job detailing the facts:
http://www.worldofthebible.com/Documents/Fall2010.pdf
Dr. Patton also put together a video documenting the shenanigans:
(30 megs) Windows format:
http://www.noahs-ark.tv/patton-noahs-ark-nami-fraud.wmv
(60 megs) Flash Format:
http://www.noahs-ark.tv/patton-noahs-ark-nami-fraud.f4v
(70 megs) Real Player format:

I mean no harm to the NAMI team, but what am I supposed to say? People keep asking me about the NAMI team’s finding, and the NAMI team keeps on promoting and fundraising for a fraud.

1) Canadian tour and newspaper articles
Ugh. I’m home….again….It’s been a gruelling four months on the road, fantastic to see what the Lord did, and thank you to all of you who had me come share with your group. Being on the road, living in the van for four months is the reason there’s been almost no newsletters, rants, updates on the museum project, etc… Thanks to all those who wrote in, saying how much you missed all of that. Kind and encouraging words are always appreciated and helpful.
I just came back from Newfoundland, where there was a bit of a ruckus after I spoke in Carbonear. The Carbonear newspaper the Compass, ran an article and had a letter to the editor. This was picked up by the creation.org blog:
http://blog.creation.org/creationist-watch/canadian-creationist-ian-juby-and-his-travelling-creation-museum
This was after the fall-out in Pasadena, Newfoundland, earlier this year when I spoke in the public school there (see below, “Embarrassing court cases”). I’m still a little overwhelmed by the good responses that I met in Newfoundland, and undoubtedly will be going back to the Island again – sooner then later.
So I’ll be seeking bookings in Ontario, trying to be home as much as possible to work on the portable museum. If anyone in Ontario thinks they’d be interested in having me bring the museum to their group, please contact me. In the meantime, I’ll be speaking at:
November 15:
Homeschoolers of Almonte, 9 am @ Almonte Reformed Presbyterian Church
January 14 & 15:
Teens and adults, Cornwall Wesleyen Church

2) Dinos to birds?
You’ll notice during my children’s presentations that I always start
off with a pop-quiz for the kids. One of the questions I ask is “Where did birds come from?”
It never ceases to amaze me how many five year old children will tell me that birds evolved from dinosaurs, showing just how effective the evolutionary propaganda machine is. (more…)

1) Good grief – now they’re saying the dinosaurs froze to death!
Do you really think freezing a dinosaur is going to dismember it like this, and entomb it with plants and clams which were buried alive???
If you recall, in my last newsletter I responded to a symposium of international scientists who had finally come together to decide that it was an asteroid impact that killed the dinosaurs (see “41 Scientists finally figure it out…?”).
I also showed you why they were wrong. Sure enough, not even two weeks after I sent out that newsletter, another article came out from some European researchers, claiming that no, it was not an asteroid impact, but it was in fact cold that killed the dinosaurs! (frigid weather, not the common cold)

Supposed “100 million year old hair” found in some amber is identical to that of modern mammalian hair:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn18937-csi-100-million-years-bc-oldest-mammalian-hair-found.html
As we read some ten times in the first chapter of Genesis, God created life to reproduce after its kind. Evolution operates with radical changes in an organism over time. Therefore we have a nice example of some scientific evidence we can look for to figure out if creation or evolution is true.
With the discovery of this fossil hair, we have another example of what we see in the fossil record: stasis – things reproducing faithfully after their kind. Even going by the evolutionary timescale (which I do not believe, I see the evidence as quite good for an earth that is young and not billions of years old), what we see in the fossil record is stasis – everything stays the same, affirming the Biblical account of creation and refuting the evolutionary myth.
