Full transcript:

Okay, I know, you’re sick of hearing about it, but we got more dramatic dinosaur soft tissues, and we interview a special guest regarding fossil human footprints. Join us – this is Genesis Week!

Welcome! To this episode of Genesis Week, the weekly program of creationary commentary on news, views and events pertaining to the origins controversy, made possible by the supporters of CORE Ottawa, Citizens for Origins Research and Education, and of course, carried on the Christianima network – christianima.com – Christian cinema at its finest. Excellence in pirate broadcasting, we continue to bring you the information the anticreationists don’t want you to see or hear, and giving glory to our Creator while doing it. We here at Genesis Week believe your brain was intelligently designed, and God wants you to use it. Remember if you get lost in cyberspace, you can just punch in wazooloo.com or genesisweek.com and you can find us, and also subscribe to our youtube channel to get extras like CrEvo rants and full interviews with our guests. I’m your host, Ian Juby

Ohhh, you know I don’t want to bore you guys by continually flogging fossil equines (for those of you non-sciencey types or if you don’t know latin names enough, that means beating a dead horse), but this is just too rich! We’ve reported on many, many stories of preserved soft tissues from dinosaurs, along with blood cells, bone cells, and probable Dinosaur DNA. In June of 2012 at the Pipestone Creek Dinosaur Initiative not far out of Grande Prairie, Alberta, a fossil hadrosaur dinosaur was found….with actual intact SKIN. (more…)

May 1, 2013 CrEvo Newsletter with Ian Juby and CORE Ottawa

Welcome to all of the new subscribers!

This is the “When I get a round tooit” Creation/Evolution newsletter from Ian Juby and CORE Ottawa

If you do not see a header image above this text, you may have to turn on images in your email program, or you can click here to view it in your browser (https://ianjuby.org/may1_2013.html)

If you’re really confused as to why on earth you’re getting this newsletter, you may have forgotten you signed up for it at one of Ian’s lectures, or you got it due to an error in the cyberspace post office, or a friend forwarded it to you, or some other reason that isn’t my fault. See removal instructions at the bottom of the newsletter.

In this special report newsletter showing first-hand research:

1) It’s been a while…

2) New documentary: The Mystery of Noah’s Flood

3) Soft preserved tissues, and even living organisms in the rock record

4) Muh New Book!

***************************************************************************

1) It’s been a while….

With many apologies for not getting more newsletters out, let’s just say it’s been a rather intense year. šŸ™‚ Genesis Week consumes a considerable amount of time, and is now airing on Miracle Channel four times a week, and was mentioned in their newsletter just this past week. You can catch the show Mondays at 9:30 pm, Tuesdays at 2:30pm, Thursdays (premiere showing of the week) at 7pm and Saturdays at 8:30 pm eastern. If you don’t get Miracle Channel via satellite or cable, you can watch it streaming off their website at www.MiracleChannel.ca

The show was airing Internationally, including right across the United States on TheWalkTV.com, but I have had to temporarily pull the show from TheWalk for the summer, presumably we will be picking the show up again in September.

It has been an odessy producing the show and you can catch all the past episodes on YouTube, as well as several new rants that have been released in the past several months:

http://GenesisWeek.com

As a result of Genesis Week, really all the latest news and information has gone into the shows, including the story down below on soft tissues and yes, even living organisms found in the rock record.

2) New Documentary: The Mystery of Noah’s Flood

Stephen Orsatti, CEO of Christianima Networks (Christian Cinema) and I are excited to announce a new documentary we’ll producing over the summer months. Entitled The Mystery of Noah’s Flood, we’re going to bring eye-popping cinematography and graphics, as well as loads of things you’ll have not seen before. The documentary will weave a bundle of seemingly disconnected rabbit trails into one path that leads us to understanding the mystery of Noah’s flood. We will bring you to the evidence of the flood, via film, so you can see the profound and remarkable evidence that not only screams there has been a world wide flood, it also brings home the sheer scale of the flood!

With stunning cinematography and re-enactments, Hollywood quality graphics and animations, make no mistake about it, we are aiming to compete with the best of the best: PBS, BBC, CBC, History Channel, etc… We will be pitching this documentary to all the major broadcasters as well. But we need your help to accomplish this task. Big productions require big budgets, and although we will be producing this documentary for pocket change (comparitively speaking), we still need a large amount of funds to pull this off. I will be driving literally from the most easternly point of North America, right out to the Rocky Mountains to get the shots I need, while Stephen will be producing the re-enactments with actors and sets.

We’ve also signed on our composer, a highly talented young man, Joshua Kattner. To really raise the bar for Joshua and to give him a test drive, I challenged him by assembling a montage of completely random footage and asked him to make a score for it. This is what he came up with:

Here is Joshua introducing himself and his heart in the project:

And of course, the teaser trailer for the documentary:

There are a number of ways you can help. It is a crowdfunded project, so donations are needed – check out our list of perks. For example, a donation of $35 gets you the supporter DVD edition of the documentary. A $100 donation gets you an autographed blu-ray edition. However, we also need thousands of “likes” and “shares” on facebook, twitter, google plus, etc… So please, share the link to the website with all of your friends. Visit our Indiegogo site today:

3) Soft preserved tissues, and even living organisms in the rock record

Triceratops blood cells, from

“Soft sheets of fibrillar bone from a fossil of the

supraorbital horn of the dinosaur Triceratops horridus”

Armitage & Anderson, Acta Histochemica,

http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.acthis.2013.01.001

You’ll recall in previous newsletters (item #2, “Scientists choke on T. rex meat”) our discussion of the numerous discoveries of soft dinosaur tissues and even blood found in dinosaur bones. Now while such a discovery is indeed spectacular, it is hardly the first – nor an isolated case! Reports of preserved dinosaur tissues (such as collagen fibers and blood cells) in dinosaur bones first came out in 1923. (Dinosaur red blood cells found in 1923: R.L. Moodie, Paleopathology, Urbana, Ill., University of Illinois Press, 1923 pg 165,1923) Creationists reported the finding of collagen fibers in T. rex bone back in 2001 (http://www.creationresearch.org/crsq/articles/38/38_2/Trex.htm)

So while it is still another stunning find, the recent publication of the first research results from the Creation Research Society’s iDINO project, should come as no surprise. From the horn of a Triceratops excavated in the Hell Creek formation of Montana, researchers Armitage and Anderson found not only soft tissues, but again, dinosaur blood. The photo shown at the start of this article is an electron microscope photo showing the inside of preserved blood vessels. The miriad of circular disks are, evidently, blood cells….from a Triceratops….

Can you say “living fossil?”

As stunning as these discoveries of blood vessels, blood cells, and dinosaur meat that was even still stretchy (!!!), all of this pales in comparison to the findings of living organismsĀ in rocks alleged by the evolutionary timescale to be many hundreds of millions of years old. We had reported previously on living bacteria found in rocks at incredible depths (and allegedly incredible ages, according to the evolutionary timescale), but multiple reports of living toads and frogs have come to light over the past many years, with the toads and frogs (and living clams) found in gravels and solid rock alleged to be some 400 million years old! These reports were particularly common during the construction of the Erie canal, cut through Ordovician limestones from 1817 to 1825.

For instance, as is written in the 1822 edition of “The American Journal of Science and Arts”:

“The workmen engaged in blasting rock from the bed of the Erie Canal, at Lockport, in Niagara county, lately discovered in a small cavity in the rock, a toad in the torpid state, which on exposure to the air instantly came to life, but died in a few moments afterwards. The-cavity was only large enough to contain the body, without allowing room for motion.”

Notice that this is written before the advent of evolutionary theory and the deep time introduced by Lyell to explain away the evidence left behind by Noah’s flood. Judge for yourself: does finding such living toadsin solid rock support the idea that the rock was laid down as mud during a world-wide flood? Or does it support the idea that the rock is actually over 400 million years old and was the result of long, slow and steady geological processes?

While some may say such stories of living toads and clams found in solid rock or compacted gravels deep underground strain credibility, I would suggest it is the story of deep time which strains credulity. In fact, the scientists of the day were approaching the reports with healthy skepticism, as you can see in another report from the 1829 edition of The American Journal of Science and Arts:

“The discovery of toads in secondary rocks is often announced in public journals. A very particular account was published in the newspapers, of one found at Lockport, while they were cutting the canal bed in the geodiferous lime rock. I collected all the facts in my power, and examined the rock from which it was taken. The evidence would have been sufficient to establish any ordinary fact. But there seemed to be so many ways for illiterate laborers to deceive themselves, that I took no further notice of the report. But I have since received an account of a large dark brown toad being found in a rock of millstone grit, near Whitesborough, which I cannot hesitate to believe…while laying the cellar wall of Mr. Sill’s house, [the stone masons] had occasion to split a large stone, from the quarry which I call the millstone grit. It was perfectly close-grained and compact. On openining it they discovered a black, or dark brown spherical mass, about three inches in diameter, in a cavity which it filled. On examining it particularly, they found it to be a toad, much larger than the common species, and of a darker color. It was perfectly stupid. [in a stupor] It was laid upon a stone, and soon began to give signs of life. In a few hours it would hop moderately, on being disturbed. They saw it in the yard, moving about, moderately, for several days; but it was not watched by them any farther, and no one observed it farther movements. They laid one half of the stone in the wall, so that the cavity may still be seen.”

The author then procedes to rule out the possibility of the toad being a modern one which somehow got into the rock.

Some have argued that Dr. Schweitzer’s find of T. rex blood cells were not blood cells at all. While Schweitzer nicely refuted these arguments many moons ago (see our previous newsletter), I think it’s safe to say one thing: If we were to cut open these living toads (found in rocks dated over four times older than the alleged age of T. rex!), I have a sneaky suspicion we would find blood inside of them. Just a hunch – I could be wrong! But I think it would be undeniable that the blood cells found in those toads were, in fact, real blood cells. I also think their soft tissues would be stretchy, just like the T. rex soft tissues. šŸ™‚

The point here of course is that the idea that these rocks (and the living organisms they contain) are hundreds of millions of years old is nothing more than ludicrous. It is powerful evidence that all of these rocks are young. Even claiming these living toads are 4,500 years old (the time of Noah’s flood) is still pretty incredible, but far more believable than the fictitious story that they 400 million years old. Perhaps some of you readers out there living in upstate New York or Southern Ontario (where these limestone layers are found) would be so inspired to keep your eyes open for, or even go looking for, other examples of living organisms in these rocks?

The Bible makes sense of these finds, while evolutionary theory and deep time stands aside, absolutely baffled by the evidence.

For our “Toad you so” episode of Genesis Week, I posted a reprint of an old Creation Evidence Museum article by geologist John Watson. Sadly, John has left us to go be with the Lord, as I had only begun to get to know him shortly before he died. The man was a wealth of astonishing information. John had written this article to simply detail the implications of the toads found in Ordovician rocks. You can read his report here: “Tombed Torpid Toads Tell Tellurian Truth”.

The Paluxy river meanders through the heart of Glen Rose, Texas. A beautiful community which has been a lightning rod for controversy. It’s nothing that the town has ever done, Glen Rose is one of my favourite places on planet earth, a beautiful little town with a tremendous number of fossil dinosaur tracks. In amongst those dinosaur tracks however, are fossil HUMAN footprints which have been uncovered over the years since the 1930’s.
A lot of the evidence we deal with on this show can be INTERPRETED within an evolutionary construct, and our focus is that this same evidence can also be interpreted – usually better – within a young earth creation construct. However, I have never heard an evolutionist attempt to interpret the coexistence of humans and dinosaurs within the confines of evolutionary theory. Such coexistence defies evolutionary theory! Plain and simple! Leading evolutionary scholars have said so in print. Staunch evolutionist and paleontologist Dr. Louis Jacobs
wrote in his book “In quest of the African Dinosaur” that the “co-occurance of men and dinosaurs. Such an association would dispel an Earth with vast antiquity. The entire history of creation, including the day of rest, could be accommodated in the seven biblical days of the Genesis myth. Evolution would be vanquished.” (pg 261)

Didn’t we say that already? Genesis Week Episode 32, season 2

more baby dinosaurs found, a new documentary on Noah’s flood, and we answer a boatload of criticisms regarding overthrusts – this, is Genesis Week.

A couple of episodes back, we discussed how dinosaur egg nests actually provide good evidence of a global flood. We also discussed the rarity of dinosaur embryos in eggs, and in multiple episodes we discussed the finding of preserved soft tissues in dinosaur bones, and ultimately even living organisms like toads in rocks alleged to be over 400 million years old.
Well let’s add to that mix. This past week a report came out in Nature mazagine, detailing a spectacular find of dinosaur embryo bones in varying stages of development. Multiple dinosaur embryos were found in a disarticulated state – that means they’re all ripped apart. They were identified as Lufengosaurus and were believed to have been killed by… (drumroll please) Take a guess – take a wild guess! What do you think the scientists concluded killed these dinosaurs?

You guessed it – a flood! Notice a consistency here? Go back and check out our “Eggsplained by the flood” esipode to see this just falls in line with everything else. It was a flood that killed the dinosaurs.
Another interesting point about this new find is that because the embryos were represented in different stages of development, the researchers were able to guage the growth rates of these dinosaurs, and concluded that they grew remarkably fast – even in the egg. If you’ll recall, this again ties in with points we discussed in our “eggsplained by the flood” esipode, as the embryos are exceedingly rare, and the ones we do find, may even be development that occurred while the mother was carrying the eggs. So these rapid growth rates add more weight to that supposition.
And last but certainly not least, guess what they found in the bones? (drumroll please)

You guessed it – collagen fibers! In other words, protein matter which again SHOULD NOT BE IN BONES that are alleged to be 70 million years old. Think about that – 70 MILLION years. There should be absolutely none left. There is NO known process by which biomatter can be preserved for so long, and every study conducted says it cannot last that long. Again, this is consistent with what has been seen throughout the rock record, and consistent with the idea that the dinosaurs are NOT millions of years old, but only a few thousand years old. Exactly what the Bible would say.
You’ll recall last week we discussed things like the ATP synthase motor which we creationists and the Intelligent design community would say CANNOT evolve one small step at a time. (more…)

Geologic column busted – This is Genesis Week, Episode 30, season 2

Geologic column busted – This is Genesis Week, Episode 30, season 2

Full transcript of the show:
Doe the geologic column exist, or not? We’re going to investigate this question on this episode of Genesis Week!
Welcome! To this episode of Genesis Week, the weekly program of creationary commentary on news, views and events pertaining to the origins controversy, made possible by the supporters of CORE Ottawa, Citizens for Origins Research and Education, and now carried on the Christianima network – christianima.com – Christian cinema at its finest. Excellence in pirate broadcasting, we bring you the information the anticreationists don’t want you to see or hear, and giving glory to our Creator while doing it. Some fascinating papers came out in the journal GEOLOGY the past couple of issues; the first one came out in the March issue adding to what has been a continual work in progress: constructing and refining the geologic column.

You’ve all seen pictures of the fictitious geologic column; usually you see it in schools and museums because that really is the only place they exist. Allegedly older rocks on the bottom, with the rocks getting younger and younger as you go higher in the column.
Well this most recent refinement – I love this – the Geological Society of America has claimed to be able to date parts of the time scale with precisions approaching 0.05% – boy that’s pretty precise! And you better believe ALL of those ages are vastly larger than the Biblical age of the earth! Well if sooo many scientists can be Soooo precise that the age of that rock is 3 BILLION years old, and not 6,000 years old, well the Bible just MUST be wrong right? I mean, how could so many scientists be so wrong?
Well lets put the claims of these scientists to the test, with a little bit of investigation, shall we?
Now when I say the geologic column does not exist except in textbooks and museum displays – I aint kidding. First of all, most places you find are like Grand Canyon. There are huge gaps of time in the rock record! Or, is it actually that it’s not the evidence of time that’s mysteriously gone missing, but actually the time itself is missing.
For instance, Dr. Derek Ager, a very outspoken anticreationist and world famous geologist, referred to Grand Canyon as “Surely the finest record of geological history anywhere on Earth” which had “huge breaks” of time.

Indeed, this model at the Big Valley Creation Science Museum in Alberta Canada shows where these alleged gaps of time are. REmember, neither I, nor the Big Valley Creation Science Museum believes these ages, we’re just repeating the ages the evolutionary geologists have claimed are missing. 480 million years absent between the basement and precambrian left no evidence behind; A combined 330 million years of assumed geologic time within and between the Unkar, Nankoweap and Chuar formations, somehow came and left without leaving a trace.
While the supergroup was supposed to have sat there for some 215 million years, during which time it was tilted, it was then cut by the Tapeats sandstone. That 215 million years left not a shred of evidence.
Right here it’s expected that there was 155 million years of deposition of dirt which somehow all vanished without any evidence of erosion.
The remains of the Surprise Canyon formation are supposed to represent 25 million years, again alleged to have eroded away while leaving behind no evidence.
The top layer of Grand Canyon is claimed to be 270 million years old, and tourists now walk around on this layer. 270 million years of geological deposits have been washed away. If we ignore Temple Butte and Suprise Canyon formations, we have a total of 1,295 million years of alleged geologic time that has gone missing. This all adds up to a staggering 81% of the geologic column which is ABSENT WITHOUT A TRACE in what was described as “Surely the finest record of geological history anywhere on earth.” (more…)
