You’ll recall in past episodes of this show we brought up the incredible finds of preserved soft tissue found in dinosaur bones. What sure appears to be T. rex blood, meat, DNA, etc… The implications are profound for determining the age of the dinosaurs, and consequently the age of the earth. Those dinosaurs are supposed to be some 70 million years old. And yet their bones still have BLOOD in them? Dinosaur meat that you can stretch, let it go and it stretches back into its original shape? Decades of forensic research – science that is so solid that it stands up in a court of law; people are jailed and executed based on forensic sciences. Forensic studies have shown over and over again that those tissues simply CANNOT stick around for millions of years – end of discussion.
Here’s the problem: If those dinosaurs are not many millions of years old, then neither is the earth – because you just removed tens of millions of years from the geological history and converted it into – at absolute most, perhaps, maybe, a few hundred thousand years. And that’s being exceedingly generous.
Dr. Mary Schweitzer was the most famous of the discoverers of soft dinosaur tissues, but what most people don’t realize is that she was certainly not the only one, nor was she the first. The Creation Research Society quarterly published a report of collagen fibers in Tyrannosaurus rex bone back in 2001. Collagen fibers are sort of strands in your muscles and skin that hold everything together. W.E.D. Evans published a forensic book back in 1963 pointing out the details of rapid biological decay, and in that book he even mentioned the finding of dinosaur red blood cells reported back in 1923.
This past week, Armitage and Anderson reporting in Acta Histochemica, detail the finding of soft tissues preserved in the horn and rib of a fossil triceratops from the Hell Creek formation in Montana. Excavated at the Glendive Dinosaur and Fossil Museum dig site, the Hell creek formation is alleged to be 70 million years old, and is the same formation from which Schweitzer and her team recovered T. rex blood cells.
So what Armitage and Anderson find? Oh – no big deal, only what appears to be bone cells, blood vessels that were soft and pliable, and evidently triceratops blood cells. You heard me right, Triceratops blood. Same old, same old. This is just simply MORE of the same, but it’s very interesting that this soft tissue was found in a triceratops horn – something that hadn’t been done before. It also adds to what has already been found by DOZENS of other researchers, of which Schweitzer is only one. All of these DOZENS of findings only add to the overwhelming evidence that these fossils are NOT many tens of millions of years old.
But finding preserved dinosaur tissues is pene ante! Why, they’re only like, 100 million years old or so, according to the evolutionary timescale. Let’s push the envelope a little: Remember that the point I’m making here is that NONE of these fossils could POSSIBLY be the ages the evolutionary community is alleging, because they have preserved soft tissues. Soft tissues that simply cannot stick around for the many hundreds of millions of years that evolutionary theory and deep time ASSUMES. These ASSUMED ages are unfounded, and in fact refuted by the finding of soft, preserved tissues in these fossils.
The famous Archeaopteryx fossils are alleged to be 150 million years old – yet a May 2010 PNAS article documents the discovery that the feathers of the Thermopolis specimen were, in fact,
Not only that, some of the bone was still there as well! They were able to analyze the bones and feathers to determine their chemistry.
But let’s go farther back in “time” – again bearing in mind I don’t think we’re going back in time at all, this was all buried by Noah’s flood roughly 4,500 years ago in my opinion. So while it’s still shocking to find soft tissues preserved in 4,500 year old fossils, you’ll notice we consistently find the same things throughout the rock record – soft tissues that strongly point to it all being young, and severely challenging the deep time assigned to the rocks.
Those of you long time viewers who will have seen CrEvo Rant #46 Dinosaurs to birds, will recall my discussion about the alleged “feathers” on several chinese fossil dinosaurs that weren’t feathers at all, but fibers that were interpreted to be a protofeather – the precursor of the evolving feather. The more likely interpretation is what Lingham-Soliar et al suggested in a Royal Society B paper, that these “protofeathers” are just simply more of these collagen fibers – and not protofeathers at all.
Then the same kind of “protofeathers” were found on a dolphin like creature, an Ichthyosaur. So this becomes a problem for the “feathered dinosaur” theory unless you want to say that a dolphin like creature also evolved feathers. The fibers were identical to the chinese dinosaur “protofeathers,” and Lingham-Soliar et al contended they were simply collagen fibers.
Well that very same Ichthyosaur was also discovered to have soft tissues still preserved – in a fossil alleged to be 190 million years old. If it was a 190 million years old, there would be NO soft tissues remaining.
But that brings us to a paper that came out this past week on which Science Daily wrote an article entitled “Ancient Fossilized Sea Creatures Yield Oldest Biomolecules Isolated Directly from a Fossil.”
Crinoids are better known as sea lillies. They are an invertebrate animal and are quite common in the fossil record. Allegedly 350 million years old, these sea lillies have evolved over 350 million years…into sea lillies. Powerful evidence FOR creation and refuting evolution! Evolution requires change over time, not stasis. But I digress:
The title of the science daily article isn’t quite right – the original paper reporting on the fossil sea lily in Geology magazine was more specific in that it was believed to be the oldest biological material taken from fossil Crinoids. There was actually soft tissues retrieved from a fossil Shrimp in Oklahoma that was alleged to be older than the crinoids in discussion – 360 million years old. But – what’s 10 million years among friends, eh?
In the geology paper they document finding preserved quinones left behind by the sea lily. Now this isn’t much – basically, it smelled like a sea lily. But again, remarkably they were finding enough biological material left over that the researchers felt justified in trying to use it to study the evolution of the sea lily. Presumably to see if fossil sea lilies smelled like modern sea lilies.
The fossil shrimp was alleged to be OLDER than these fossil sea lilies, but the shrimp was so well preserved that the authors wrote
So we have numerous cases of fossils, even with muscle tissues still preserved, in rocks alleged to be some 360 million years old. Perhaps those rocks and fossils are NOT that old? Seeing as how forensic sciences would say “that’s impossible.”
It certainly IS possible, if the Biblical account of earth history is correct, and all of those fossils were buried at the same time, during a world wide flood roughly 4,500 years ago.
But let’s do one better than that. The construction of the Erie Canal in New York state took place from 1817 to 1825. That construction cut through limestones and drifts of clay and gravel which are now dated as Silurian and Ordivician by the modern evolutionary timescale. The evolutionary ages assigned to those deposits is between 419 and 485 million years old – so we’ll go with an average age of 430 million years of deep time.
As the workers removed solid rock – limestones, they would encounter toads entombed in the rocks which were in a “stupor” – a state of deep hibernation. The soft tissues of the toads were not only preserved in solid rock, THE TOADS WERE STILL ALIVE. In “430 million year old rocks!”
This state of hibernation, called torpidity, is kept in stasis as long as the toad is kept in temperatures below 50 degrees fahrenheit, or 10 degrees celcius. The moment the toad warms up to that temperature, it cannot stay in this state of deep hibernation. Once the toads were freed from their solid rock tombs, they warmed up, and would hop around in the presence of multiple eye witnesses for a while, usually dying within the hour, but sometimes living for days!
The American Journal of Science and Arts of 1822 documented the first case:
To say that there was numerous reports like this, is an understatement. Another report from 1829 showed the skepticism from the scientists of the day. Scientists which became convinced upon further investigation of the reports:
The author goes on to rule out speculations of how a modern frog could’ve gotten into the rock.
But frogs and toads found deep below the surface, in impenetrable, undisturbed clays, and compact gravels was quite common. The workers also found hundreds of clams – still alive, in the “diluvial deposits,” get this – 45 feet – 15 meters, underground. The scientists of the day considered these to be ancient deposits from Noah’s flood. As if intending to make a point, workers fried some of the clams and ate them. Notice what the author specifically states in his report – he was not questioning the claims of finding living animals buried deep underground, he wanted to settle in his heart that these deposits were in fact, ancient – from the time of Noah’s flood in his mind:
Today, those rocks and deposits are considered silurian and ordivician – an average age of 430 million years old. These reports were publicized before the dawn of old-earth thinking, which boosted the age of these deposits from 3 to 4,000 years old to an unproveable assigned age of 430 million years old.
Judge for yourself which is more likely: That these rock layers and clay deposits were laid down 430 million years ago or so, or 4,000 years ago. Even if the living frog stories were false, and the workers had only found a dead frog in the rock, this is STILL a problem for evolutionary theory, seeing as how frogs – which are amphibians – were not supposed to have evolved until 370 million years ago or so – 50 million years after these rocks were laid down, according to evolutionary deep time.

And let us not forget the reports of living bacteria I discussed back in episode 6 of this year. Bacteria that if you go by the age of the rocks they were found in, were some 500 million years old. So we see throughout the entire phanerozoic rock record, lots of examples of biological material and apparently even living orgnanisms. This verifies that the earth is YOUNG – not hundreds of millions of years old at all. If it’s all recent, then there has been no evolution. There are only two models out there which attempt to explain how we got here, and both models are mutually exclusive of the other, and all other theories of origins. Either we evolved, or we were created. If deep time and subsequently evolution have been falsified by the scientific evidence, then there is only one other option: We were Created. That Creator cares for you very much. He is not some distant God, but rather is very personal. But your sins have separated you from Him. As it says in Romans “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) but yet Jesus came to die the death you and I deserved for our sins, to restore our relationship with God. But it comes with a price: You must surrender your life to Christ, living your life in His place, as if He had never died. He died for you, you must live for Him.

Lots of critics the past couple of weeks, spouting off mocking and insults while simultaneously never addressing the points I brought up. For example, nobody attempted to answer any of the points I brought up showing how the solar system was young, and how evolutionary theories of planetary origins had failed all predictions, whereas creationary models HAD predicted things like planetary magnetic fields. Instead of addressing the facts, I only heard complaints about my use of the word “evolution” with regards to the origin of our solar system.
Ya, cause as we all know, evolution has nothing to do with our solar system….

Thanks for writing in, but I don’t know where you got this information. It’s the exact opposite in fact. For example – when the spacecraft Mariner 10 flew by Mercury in 1975, evolutionary models had predicted it would have NO magnetic field. Instead it had a really strong magnetic field. Using that data and his Biblical model of the creation of planetary magnetic fields, Dr. Humphreys predicted that there would be a strong, measureable weakening of Mercury’s magnetic field. So when the spacecraft Messenger made orbit around Mercury in 2010, another of Humphreys predictions was verified – and a surprise followed. When Humphreys made his list of predictions back in 1986, he made predictions about what would be discovered about the PAST magnetic fields of Mars and Mercury, that would be stored in lava rocks found on the planets. When he made those predictions, he expected that one day astronauts or a robotic space craft would have to bring rocks back to earth from the planets. He had no idea at the time that spacecraft today would be able to verify this prediction just by orbitting the planet! That is precisely what happened in 1997 with Mars, and 2010 for Mercury. In the meantime, evolutionary theorists were left baffled at the measurements they took, as the readings they got were completely the OPPOSITE of what evolutionary theories predicted.

Excellent question: First things first, there undoubtedly would have been a lot of plant food brought on board the ark. While there are many animals that eat meat NOW, I would contend they did NOT eat meat then. Something radical happened at the time of the flood. For instance, when we look in the fossil record, we find plants that grow in my backyard today…well, it isn’t growing in my backyard right now cause it’s like, under six feet of snow, but you know what I mean. The Lycopsid club moss grows here in Ontario, it *might* get about this tall – yet that same plant is found in the fossil record up to 120 feet – 35 meters tall. The trunk alone can be a meter across. We find huge plants, and huge insects and animals – 12 foot tall moose, dragonflies with wingspans of a meter or more, etc…
Something radical took place at the time of the flood. Animals, plants and insects got smaller. In the Bible we see people’s lifespans drop to one tenth of what they were, AND – God specifically instructing Noah to eat meat AFTER the flood, when Genesis clearly tells us that us and all the animals were designed to eat plants only. So it would have been some time after the flood before carnivorous activity really took place. Huge populations can arise with amazing speed. Elephants for example, with their very slow reproduction rate, can still produce populations of millions in the space of a couple of hundred years.
