1) Random stuff

Just got back from an intense, two-month long US speaking and
research tour. Did a lot of speaking, and a lot of
research! Ended at the Dallas TBN studios, where Dr. Baugh had me
on as a guest on “Creation in the 21st Century” for two more
shows.

I’ll be organizing the 2009 “Happy Birthday Darwin” US/Canada tour,
starting in Idaho in the last week of January. I’ll be on tour in
the US from late January through April, then a Canadian tour from late
April through June. Lots of events
being planned, stay tuned to these newsletters, and if you can organize
a stop for the museum, I’d appreciate it.

***********************************************************

2) “God delusion” suicide and atheist ads on
buses

Just in
time for Christmas, atheistic ads are being placed on buses in London,
England. Supported by atheist Professor, Richard Dawkins, one
such ad reads “There’s
probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy
your life.”

(Read the BBC news
article here)

Sadly, these ads came out right around the time a bright young man from
New York named Jesse Kilgore, committed suicide after reading Dawkins’
book, “The God Delusion.” (Read
the story here on World Net Daily)

But what is one to expect? Atheism has nothing to offer, and
ridicules those who do have something to offer. I was once quite
intensely suicidal because of the lack of hope, lack of a future.
Atheism offered me nothing.

It was the power of a restored relationship with Christ that saved me
from that awful depression, and suicide.

It’s funny how Dawkins (and other atheists) spend so much time, deep in
thought and utter hatred towards a God they are desperately proclaiming
does not exist. I just came back from interviewing Dr. Jerry
Bergman for my movie “Persuaded by
the evidence.” Dr. Bergman (who holds nine university
degrees - three of them PhD’s!) once was an atheist, and is now a
young-earth creationist and a Christian. Part of the reason for
his conversion was the utter uselessness of atheism!

What’s even more interesting is how Dawkins
continually refuses to participate in a scientific debate with a
creationist about the existence of a Creator God - though he has been
challenged to such a debate repeatedly by people like former atheist
Dr. Jerry Bergman, and John
Mackay.

In the BBC report on the atheist ads, Dawkins said “This
campaign to put alternative slogans on London buses will make people
think - and thinking is anathema to religion.”

Apparently Dawkins insists that his
brain was not intelligently
designed. Apparently he also hasn’t thought through
the consequences of that claim:

If Dawkins’ brain was not
intelligently designed, then this would mean that his brain was
the result of random accidents and lack of direction… and
consequently, his thoughts are also the result of random accidents and
lack of direction.

Thinking
is anathema to atheism.

In fact, even Darwin seemed to have clued into this problem when he
wrote:

"With me, the horrid doubt always arises whether the convictions of man's
mind, which has been developed from the mind of the lower animals, are
of any value or at all trustworthy. Would any one trust in the
convictions of a monkey's mind, if there are any convictions in such a mind?"
(Letter to W. Graham, July 3, 1881)

Actually, I have repeatedly said that if your religion (like Dawkins’
religion of evolution) does not allow you to ask questions, get out of
it! God gave you a brain, do something with it! Evolution
is the epitome of anti-science, anti-thought, religion. Anyone
who dares question evolution
is immediately ridiculed, and faces immediate prejudice. Don’t
believe me? Try it sometime. Science
asks questions - it does not hide behind judges and lawyers (as does
evolution).

Nothing discredits atheism better than atheism - we need to pray for
our atheist friends, that they may have their eyes opened to the truth
(like Dr. Bergman),
and that they don’t erroneously influence others, like Jesse Kilgore.

We also need to pray for more warriors who aren’t afraid to take on the
falsehoods of atheist thinking and evolutionary teaching, that we may
teach our young people properly to have an answer - in season, and out
of season.

***********************************************************

3) Brock has too much time on his hands: Does
protein calculations

A fine
young man from Minnesota named Brock Lee has kindly sent in a number of
things. As soon as “The Complete Creation” series is finished,
I’ll be posting Brock’s “Question and Answers” sheets for use by home
schoolers in conjunction with the video series.

He also sent me a really big number.

For those who have seen my “Complete Creation” video series, you’ve
undoubtedly seen the segment inspired by my good friend, Stan Lutz,
from Washington state. Stan had calculated how many different
combinations of amino acids you would have to try, per second, for 20
billion years, in order to randomly assemble one protein. In the
video (part 12, viewable for free on my website),
I mentioned that the longest protein that I knew of was 26,926
amino acids long, and sarcastically told the viewers that I wasn’t
going to do the math for that one.

Welp, apparently Brock had waaaay too much time on his hands, so he did do the calculations. He’s
recently been assembling several creation-oriented websites, and he
posted all of his calculations and pertinent info on his Young Earth
Creation website:

http://youngearthcreation.org/largest_protein_calculations.htm

The punch line: In order to assemble one protein, by random assembly,
you would have to try (just keeep scrollin’)

different amino acids per second, for 20 billion years, to arrive at
the correct
sequence. That’s 5 followed by 35,013 zeros. That’s a lot
of combinations.

In case you also have way too much time on your hands, Brock has kindly
shown how anybody can figure out these calculations at home, for any
protein sequence:

http://youngearthcreation.org/largest_protein_calculations.htm

Obviously, it requires a lot of intelligence to assemble even a simple
protein, which is only one of the very basic building blocks of
life. Even with an infinite
amout of time, random assembly cannot even produce the basic
building blocks of life - let alone “simple life” (a myth I will debunk
some other day).

Well whadya know - there is a God!

***********************************************************

4) T-rex smells like a killer

Since when does your nasal passages determine whether or not
you’re a carnivore?

Don’t look now, but apparently this proves that T-rex was a killer!

http://www.livescience.com/animals/081028-t-rex-nose.html

While it may be that T-rex was a meat eater, I am not the only one who
holds great reservations about that claim. Even Jack
Horner,
world-famous paleontologist and T-rex excavator has expressed his
doubts - for one of the many reasons I too have cited: T-rex’s arms
were useless for anything but holding canes and stalks!
Certainly
they were useless for grasping prey! Furthermore, while they did
grow continual teeth, their teeth are best suited for shredding canes,
stalks and grasses. Yes - many meat eaters today (like lions)
have teeth like T-rex. However, if you watch closely, the lions
do not use those pointy teeth for eating meat - they use their
molars.

In fact,
the Hadrosaur skull I
have in my museum is dotted with T-rex
tooth bite-marks. A T-rex had the entire skull in its jaws - but
it didn’t eat the Hadrosaur: Why not? There are lots of reasons
why a T-rex may bite a Hadrosaur that have nothing to do with
carnivorous activity. Also, we do find fossil bones that have
been gnawed on - but apparently none from a T-rex.

The interpretation that T-rex was a vicious meat-eater is an
evolutionary one: Survival of the
fittest - the biggest, the baddest,
the meanest “wins.” The Bible clearly states that all animals
were originally created to eat plants (Genesis 1:29-30). There
are plenty of reasons to conclude that T-rex was at least designed to be a plant eater.
Now did he turn into a meat eater later on? Possibly, I’m merely
saying that to date, I have yet to see any convincing evidence of that,
and at least one evolutionist in the know agrees with me.

Carnivorous activity is actually
driven by nutritional needs.
Sheep, believe it or not, are vicious killers. (you’ll never sleep
properly counting sheep again after reading this, and you’ll never have
a normal visit to the farm again) Sheep have actually
been observed to kill and eat birds during droughts. But when the
rain comes in and the plants flourish, they are quite content eating
only plants!

It was only after the flood that Noah was given permission to eat the
flesh of animals (Genesis 9:3) - which is probably the same time that
something radical changed in the environment. Due to space, I
won’t give much detail other than to say that when we look in the
fossil record, we see giant lifeforms; i.e., dragonflies with wingspans
of over a meter, beavers two meters long, and plants that grew
huge. I have a two-part lesson on this in my “science notes“:

http://ianjuby.org/feb2002.html

Something radical changed at the time of the flood. While there
was violence in the earth before the flood, resulting from the fall of
man and the entrance of sin into the world, I would suggest that
carnivorous activity became prominent (and necessary) only after the
flood.

***********************************************************

5) “Complete Creation” almost finished

Yes, I’m shooting the last segments in the studio as you read
this. Please pray - there has been numerous things interfering
with production, but it is going ahead. I wanted to have the last
DVD’s done and in the mail by December 1st, but obviously that didn’t
happen. Please pray! The content is already decided, it is
simply an issue of shooting and editing.

***********************************************************

6) Texas Teachers supposedly want evolution

There’s been a tremendous hub-bub in Texas this past little while as
the Texas school board evaluates how it will deal with, and teach,
origins.

A survey was taken by “Texas Freedom Network,” a group whic apparently
wants complete freedom from the truth and those nagging questions that
evolution can’t answer like “What’s the evidence for evolution?” and
“How does evolution violate natural laws, while being strictly a
naturalistic processes?”

Yup; according to their heavily sided survey (in which a mere 450 teachers actually
responded out of 1,019 surveyed), 95% said they want evolution to be
the only theory of origins
taught in public schools.

98% rejected intelligent design as
being scientific.

border=”1″ cellpadding=”2″ cellspacing=”2″>

So according to 98% of the teachers surveyed, it is “unscientific” to suggest that a Texas flag had a designer.

Clearly they consider it more scientific to say that the flag could have formed by natural processes.

Apparently 95% think that a frog turning into a prince is as scientific as it gets.

It is evident by the survey numbers that the teachers who responded don’t even know what intelligent design is - seeing as how it’s a scientific tool that they use every day, whether they know it or not.
It is also evident that they do not understand how this scientific tool is applied to the origins debate.

To get a handle on this, just watch part 12 of “The Complete Creation”
video series, available for free viewing on my website.

Better yet - consider buying a set of my DVD’s and giving them as a
present to a Texas teacher for the politically correct, generic,
non-religious winter holidays.

There’s nothing nice to say about an
attitude which does not allow
scientific enquiry in a science classroom!

I wish I had a dollar
for everytime I heard an anti-creationist say to me that “science
follows the evidence.” Heck, I’d have my museum built
already! This is another fine example of evolutionary hypocrisy - oh yes, the
anti-creationists follow the evidence as long as (in their mind) it
supports evolution. The moment I bring up one of the miriads of
problems for evolution, evolution quickly runs to hide behind judges,
lawyers and policies.

Does gravitational theory need to hide behind politicians and
lawyers? Do chemists lobby the Texas state school board so that
only their views of chemistry are taught? Do they ask for
protection from alternate theories? No - because these things do
not need to hide behind lawyers. These are scientific, evolution
is not scientific, nor observable, testable, or any of those nice
things that are required by science.

The truth begs for scrutiny, but lies beg for tolerance.

It is ludicrous that a state school board is lobbied to teach only one
view point on anything.
The survey also screams the question “Why did so few teachers
respond?” The answer is quite simple - open, flagrant bigotry
towards anyone who questions evolution! And so…

***********************************************************

6) Academic Freedom day

There’s
plenty of things to do on Darwin’s 200th birthday coming up on
February 12th.

2009 is also the 150th “birthday” of Darwin’s earth-shattering book,
“Origin of the species.” Atheists, evolutionists and creationists
alike all have special events planned around this time. I, for one,
will be in the middle of my “Happy Birthday Darwin” US/Canada tour.

The Discovery Institute is launching “Academic freedom day” on Darwin’s
birthday. In fact, Darwin actually wrote something of good
scientific significance:

“A fair result can be obtained only by fully stating and
balancing the facts and arguments on both sides of each question.”

Now there’s a grand idea - stating and
balancing the facts and arguments on both sides of each question!
“But Charles - your followers won’t
allow us to come to the table. You see them over there - the ones
cowering behind the judge? The ones demanding censorship?
Ya, those guys.”

So in the spirit of Darwinian thought (*ahem*), I would encourage you
to celebrate “Academic freedom day” with us.

1) On the road again…

Welp, I’m on tour in the US. I spoke in Madoc, Ontario, then headed down to Akron, Ohio, where I’ve had the priviledge to speak to well over 700 people in the space of 4 days, not including the listening audience for WHKW radio in Cleveland, where I did a live call-in show with Pastor Al.

I’ll be speaking at another Christian school this week, and my traveling museum will be on display as a special exhibit at the Akron Fossils and Science Center until Saturday, then I cut outa here and head for Minneapolis, where I’ll be speaking at the TCCSA.

From there I head down to Glen Rose, Texas, with a brief stop in Green, Kansas. I’ll be speaking to the students at Flint Hills Christian school during the day, and there will be a session open to the public in the evening of the 29th. I’ll be speaking on “Dinosaurs and humans.” It was a packed-out house when I spoke there two years ago, and I’m looking forward to seeing my friends there again.

I’ll be speaking at the Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas, on November 1st. I’ll be tag-teaming with my mentor, Dr. Carl Baugh, as he addresses the adults and I’ll address the children. Then it’s up to Dallas to speak at MIOS on November 4th on “Evidence of Noah’s flood from the Dinosaurs.” Then on over to Abilene, Texas and the Discovery Center for the weekend of the 14th.

There’s more to it, but just check out the itinerary page to see if I’ll be anywhere near where you are, and if you wish to try and book a presentation, just visit the contact page.

**************************************************************
2) Dinosaurs, nuclear missile codes and politics

As I write this, Canadians are voting across the country (I went to the advance polls before I left) and I pray earnestly for both my own country, and for the US as their elections come up as well.
I normally don’t delve into politics, but when politics ventures into the realm of dinosaurs and humans living together, I just can’t help myself <grin>.

Everyone was rather shocked by McCain’s vice-presidential candidate pick, Sarah Palin. The liberal media jumped all over the idea that she was all for teaching creation in public schools. Apparently CBS just HAD to interview actor Matt Damon (of the Bourne conspiracy flicks) to get his opinion on Sarah Palin.
Apparently Damon is supposed to represent the “sane” part of the US population.

Not quite sure why they had to interview someone who makes his livelihood making fiction look like reality, but that’s what they chose to do. I’ll probably include this clip in my introductory video on my website (just go to http://ianjuby.org . The video on the front page is my introductory video) with my commentary, but I’ll give some input here.

It’s utterly hilarious that Damon somehow manages to find a relationship between dinosaurs, nuclear missile codes and politics! The stunning words of wisdom coming out of Damon’s mouth was a clear stab at Palin’s creationist leanings, and consequently her sanity:
“…crazy. I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were around 4,000 years ago - that’s an important - I want to know that; I really do - because she’s gonna have the nuclear codes.”

LOL!
……. Sorry……. I’m trying to control my snickering long enough to type here…….

Okay, I’m okay now…. I think……

Okay….

No, no, no, Matt - you got it all wrong! It wasn’t 4,000 years ago - heck, no, it was a lot more recent than that!
First of all, her belief that dinosaurs lived 4,000 years ago is not at all uncommon, and a great many perfectly sane people believe it. Let us not forget the national poll taken by Angus-Reid last year at the opening of the Big Valley Creation Science Museum, where the majority of Canadians believed that dinosaurs and humans lived together at some point in the past. While I’m unaware of such a survey being conducted in the US, every other similar survey about the beliefs of the US population has pretty much mirrored the Canadian population identically, in regards to the whole Creation/Evolution debate.

But let’s take a look at Damon’s subtle suggestion that someone is “crazy” for believing this. Who would you trust with nuclear codes?

A) Someone who believes that dinosaurs and humans lived together

B) Someone who believes that a frog turned into a prince, believes in survival of the fittest and that the “toughest one wins” by exterminating all other opposition

?
Option B) is some of the tenets of the evolutionary theory.

Furthermore, Damon is clearly speaking WAY out of his realm and in an area he clearly knows nothing about. The evidence that dinosaurs and humans have lived contemporaneously (and also at the same time) is quite overwhelming. Just to give you a sampling of some of the evidence out there:
1) Ancient artwork such as the Ica Stones, and the Cambodian temple of Tai Prohm
2) Ancient artifacts from humans found in rocks dating to the dinosaur era, or earlier (see pages 6-8 in my Virtual Museum tour)
3) Fossil human remains found in layers below the Morrison formation - famous for its dinosaurs
4) Fossil human footprints found together with dinosaur tracks - i.e.; the Delk track, the Taylor trails, etc…

Oh - and did I mention the numerous C14 tests carried out on dinosaur bones, mammoth bones, wood fragments from dinosaur bearing layers and coal samples from layers “older” than the dinosaurs? Ya - these C14 dates always have a nasty habit of returning dates of 5,000 to 50,000 years old - a far cry from the assumed ages of 60 million to 300 million years old for these layers (there are several articles on this, but for one example, see Miller, et al, CRSQ, September 2006). See my “Complete Creation” videos, part 8 & 9, viewable for free on my website.

Palin is not “crazy” Damon - stick to acting; you’re good at that.

**************************************************************
3) Corrections from the last newsletter

Two corrections from the last newsletter:
I was going to plug Spike Psarris’ video in my last newsletter, and so the index contained “Cool astronomy video.” Then Spike asked me to wait, he wasn’t quite ready yet, so I deleted it but forgot to remove it from the index. So no, you didn’t miss anything.

In my “Something fishy about fish fingers” write-up, I mistakenly said that Eusthenopteron had six radial bones. This is incorrect: It had five. My point still remains the same however.

Sorry ’bout dat.

**************************************************************
4) Redundant RATE rebuttal

It was brought to my attention this past week that the ASA (a theistic evolution group which is rather anti-young-earth) had published a “rebuttal” to the RATE group’s C14 dating claims. Of course, it isn’t just the RATE team that’s finding loads of C14 in places where there should not be any at all, but the RATE team has published the most extensively on it.
I mention the RATE research and the meaning of the results in parts 7 & 8 of my “Complete Creation” series, as always, available for free viewing on my website.

The ASA reply is here:
http://www.asa3.org/ASA/education/origins/carbon-kb.htm

While these arguments had been answered by the RATE team a long time ago. Apparently the ASA folks were unable to respond and have decided it is better to ignore the RATE team, rather than to draw attention to it. But that’s okay - that’s what I’m here for! I’m here to draw your attention to the facts that the evolutionists do not want you to know.

If you want the technical answer, here is Baumgardner’s response to the ASA claims:
http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/2007/11/30/feedback-rate-contamination

As for the shorter, simplified answers, you can watch Complete Creation, part 8 where I explain one of the problems with the ridiculous suggestion that the C14 in coal is contamination. Bottom line: even if the coal had absorbed it’s volume in modern air, the total increase in C14 in the sample would be 1/1000th of the C14 that was measured.

Further suggestions that somehow, nearby Uranium deposits are contaminating the coal with C14 is just as ludicrous: the uranium to carbon ratio would need to be approximately 1:2 (http://articles.adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1985Metic..20..676J) ; or by mass, you would have to have a deposit of approximately 91% Uranium!

Other arguments against the RATE project were equally ludicrous - i.e., suggesting that the helium retention in zircons (video 8) was because the granite was colder in the past is insufficient: Even if the granite was immersed in liquid nitrogen for 2 billion years, the helium would still have leached out of the zircon crystals contained within it. Heat up the granite, and you accelerate the helium leakage, and thus get an even younger age than 6,000 years for the New Mexico granite samples.

These incredibly insufficient arguments are, sadly, typical of anti-creationist “research” and response.

**************************************************************
5) Must-attend conference in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

If you’re within driving distance of Regina, Saskatchewan this coming weekend, you want to attend the “Christianity on trial” conference, hosted by Berean Truth Ministries, and having our own Canadian Creationists Vance Nelson (Creation Truth Ministries, Alberta) and John Feakes (CARE ministries, Winnipeg, Manitoba).

http://www.btmregina.ca/Events/Upcoming Events.htm

I wish I could be there, but sadly, I’m on the road in the US - it sounds like it’s going to be a dandy conference.

**************************************************************
6) Expose on the teachings of Dr. Denis O. Lamoreux

To be honest, I don’t like dealing with issues like this. Sadly, Dr. Denis O. Lamoreux has argued vehemently and vociferously over the years against the bible - while simultaneously claiming to be a christian. One has to wonder when someone claims to be a follower of Christ (hence the name Christian) while publically arguing against the things that Christ said and believed. Sadly, he is deceiving many bible college students and many Christians across Canada, and enough is enough.

Mike Bierle has written an excellent webpage dealing with Lamoreux’s “arguments” against the bible, so rather than reinvent the wheel, I will simply point you to his website for some excellent reading:

http://www.emperorswithoutclothes.com/

**************************************************************
7) Really cool astronomy video (no really - this is it)

A good friend of mine from Washington has compiled an excellent, badly needed video on astronomy. Spike Psarris was an evolutionist, who wound up convinced by the evidence that there was a Creator God, eventually converting to Christianity and young earth creation. His passion has always been astronomy, and so he has just released his first video, shot in wide-screen, “What you aren’t being told about astronomy.”
I was honoured to be one of the reviewers, and I cannot recommend it enough. It is easy watching, humerous, enlightening, and awe-inspiring. There was times watching the video where you could just sense the presence of the Lord and couldn’t help but stand in awe at His power and what he’s done. You also couldn’t help but laugh at the same attempt by evolutionary theories to explain the unexplainable… at least, things that were unexplainable without a Creator God.

Spike has granted even more honour for both myself and you, my subscribers: Normally he only has two chapters posted on the internet for public viewing, however, for the subscribers of this newsletter, he has posted the entire video online, for free viewing. If you like what you see, he has gone one step farther and offered a discounted price on the DVD for subscribers to this newsletter. This is for a limited time - once I post this newsletter to the archives (probably by this weekend, the 20th), the page and the deal will be removed from his website. Go to:
http://www.creationastronomy.com/preview/ian.php
to access all twelve chapters of the video and the discounted price of $14 (normally the DVD sells for $19US plus shipping) is already built into the “But it now” button on the page.

Do hurry though - you only have a few day’s access (to give a chance those subscribers who only check their email every couple of days.).

If you recall, the evolutionary myth has fish evolving legs and walking up on land, becoming tetrapods (land walkers). Hence the nickname “fishopod” - it’s half-fish, half-tetrapod…. or so certain evolutionists would have you believe.

This week’s ruckus arises from a CT scan of the front fin of a Panderichthys fossil, seen on the right. (To familliarize yourself with CT scans, see the video on the Delk track: http://ianjuby.org/delk)
The purple bone at the top is the bone that anchors to the body, and the little brown bones at the tip are what’s causing all the fuss.

You see, previously, it was thought that the bones at the end of the fin (the two blue, the yellow, and five brown bones) were only two bones. It turns out there was actually six of them (as revealed by the CT scans), and the four small dark brown bones may be “four radials that hint at the future development of fingers.” (as suggested in the CBC report here.)

To see just how clear the mud is, we need to first take a crash course in fishopod evolution - work with me here!

Wikipedia nicely spells it out for us, in graphic form:

You can see the implied “evolutionary ascent” from fish to fishopod over time. Seeing as how all the fuss is over a fin, I’m going to focus just on the fins, timeline, and supposed evolution.
Let’s first ask the question “Why do they think these fossils show an evolutionary sequence?” The implied answer of course, is that these fossils show improvement and change from fish to tetrapod over time. But even just looking at the fins, the whole story just turns into another fish story real quick! While I don’t believe in these millions of years, and I don’t believe in these “radial bones,” I’m going to meet the evolutionary myth where it’s at and examine the interpretations. I’ll use a chart from Nature so you can see the “evidence” and claims yourself.:

Graphic from Nature magazine.

Eusthenopteron first appears 385 million years ago. It has five radial bones.
Panderichthys, first appearing 380 million years ago, is now believed to have four radial bones.
The Canadian fishopod, Tiktaalik, was found in 375 million year old rock. It’s not known how many radial bones it has, because some of the fossil was missing, but it probably had eight. What’s important here though is that Tiktaalik has a complex ‘wrist joint,” which was claimed to help it walk on land.
Ichthyostega has been found in rocks “dated” at 367 to 362.5 million years old. Because the front flipper/foot was not found, it is not known how many radial bones (if any) it may have had, nor if it had a wrist - however,
Acanthostega, supposedly 365 million years old, did not have a wrist, and had eight radial bones.

So if we were to follow this “fossil sequence,” it would appear that the evolution of the finger has been a wild ride:
First we evolved five fingers, then in our evolutionary ascent we lost two, then gained four back at Acanthostega. Once on land, the number went back down to four (most amphibians have four toes). Apparently we evolved a complex wrist, only to lose it again at Acanthostega, and then apparently re-evolve it back once the critters got onto land.

In the meantime, what is not shown accurately on the wikipedia timeline above is that the Coelacanth is actually the oldest known creature on that chart! The oldest Coelacanth known is from Australia and dated at over 410 million years old. Although only a jawbone has been found, presumably it’s at least similar to the other Coelacanths we do know of, which have lots of “radial bones” in its fin!
The Coelacanth has evolved over hundreds of millions of years into… Coelacanths.

So during all this time of Eusthenopteron evolving into Panderichthys, evolving into Tiktaalik, which was supposedly evolving into Ichthyostega and Acanthostega, the Coelacanth remained unchanged and has remained unchanged to this day.

The Coelacanth makes a marvelous study, because before it was found alive, evolutionists were saying the exact same things about it that they are now claiming about Ichthyostega, Tiktaalik, Acanthostega, etc….

In fact, you can still see this bias in modern day reports and websites. For instance,

“the fossilized lung fish - or coelacanth - sets back the timeline for when marine animals made their first excursions on to land….The coelacanth, which the paleontologists describe as a ‘living fossil’ fish with ‘proto legs’, “

(From I.O.L. Science)
Are these interpretations based on observation? No - because the Coelacanth lives in very deep water, and does not use its fins for anything other than swimming. So what’s this nonsense in the I.O.L. article about excursions onto land? There is no connection - simply evolutionary assumption.
We can observe the Coelacanth behaviour. We can not observe the behaviour of Acanthostega, Ichthyostega, Panderichthys and others because they are not known to be alive now. Therefore, all this talk of using their fins to walk on land is nothing more than wild speculation, the same wild speculation they hurled upon the Coelacanth, which turned out to be false. The evolution of fish to tetrapods is also nothing more than wild speculation.

All of this talk of fish makes me hungry, so I’m going to go fry up some Captain Highliner and some chips. These arguements are arguments from Homology….
***********************************************************
2) The bankruptcy of homology

Homology is a comparitive similarity between two organisms. For example, in this incredibly complex-looking drawing:

the bones in the limbs of various animals can be similar in position, structure, etc…

This is a common argument used to promote evolution, as it could be interpreted that these animals all have similar limbs because they evolved from a common ancestor. Thus, they all inherited traits from this one ancestor they all had in common.

It sounds impressive at first, but there a few problems with this interpretation. Bear with me while I get a little technical on ya:
With the fairly new science of genetics, we can now map out what genes hold the blueprints for various parts of our bodies. As a result, we now know that while the bones between two animals may appear to be homologous, the blueprints for these bones come from completely different parts of the genome! Therefore similarity between two organisms is not because of a common ancestor, otherwise, they would also share similar, homologous traits in their genome as well. They do not.

The similarity between the organisms apparently has nothing to do with a common ancestor, but rather a common designer. One can see a lot of similarities between the early Volkswagens and early Porsches. Is this because they evolved from a common ancestor? No, it’s because they both had a common designer - Ferdinand Porsche.

Homology is only cited when it appears to support evolution. Simultaneously, the lack of homology is ignored when it poses a problem for evolution. For example, a great many evolutionists (and National Geographic) believe that dinosaurs evolved into birds.

Many dinosaurs fall into two classes, based on their hip structure.
The Ornithischians are named after their ‘bird-like hips.’ ‘Orni’ is from the Greek word ornitheos, for ‘of a bird,’ and ‘ischion’ for ‘hip joint.’

The Saurischians include bipedal dinosaurs like T. rex and the Sauropods. They are called this because they have hips like lizards and ‘Saurus’ is the Greek word for ‘lizard.’

So put yourself in the shoes of an evolutionist who believes that birds evolved from dinosaurs. Which group would you assume that the birds evolved from? The Ornithischians? Some of the Ornithischian dinosaurs have bird-like feet, some have bird-like beaks, and they all have bird-like hips.
Or would you assume it was the Saurischians? Some of the Saurischian dinosaurs have elephant-like feet, some have bird-like feet, but no other real similarities to birds. They all have lizard-like hips.

If homology were actually an argument for evolution, the answer would be obvious - it would have to be the Ornithischians. However, the dino-to-bird theorists actually believe it was the Saurischians that evolved into birds!

Clearly homology is not evidence for the evolutionary myth.

I was recently forwarded the link to the PSSI website, and shortly thereafter, the CEO of PSSI happened to drop me an email. I had encountered PSSI once before, via Dr. Joseph Kezele (http://www.azosa.org/Professionals.aspx), who is the president of The Arizona Origins Science Association, AzoSA (http://www.azosa.org/). I’ve spoken there a few times and Dr. Kezele and his team are an impressive and active group.

The blog on the PSSI website has not been kept up to date since the membership list was published last year, however the comments are still pertinent. They reflect quite nicely what I was trying to say in the last newsletter, and I’d encourage readers to go check it out:
4) Niagara Falls creation tour

Coming up in a few short weeks, Josiah Detwiler (director of the Akron Fossils and Science Center) will be organizing a creation interpretation tour of the Niagara Falls and Niagara gorge on Sunday, October 5th. The following day we will be meeting Canadian side and studying and touring there as well, and anyone is welcome to join us on that day as well. I’m speaking in Madoc, Ontario on the 5th, so I won’t get there till Monday morning. The information is here, please contact Josiah directly for itinerary, and to let him know you’re interested.

Dear Friends,
I have exciting news for you. I recently met a Christian man who is a creationist geology guide in Niagara Falls! I have scheduled a group tour with Terry Kanouse (the guide) on Sunday, October 5th from 3-7 PM on the American side of Niagara Falls in Buffalo, New York. And I am extending an invitation for you and your family to join me on this trip.

The guided tour will take place on the rim of the Niagara Gorge along the public viewing overlooks and walkways. The tour will be well suited for both children and adults. Terry Kanouse, was a guide for a tourist company at Niagara Falls for about a decade. Terry was fired from his job when it became known that he did not believe in the standard millions of years timescale for the formation of Niagara Falls.

Free Group Tour
The group tour is free with the exception of a $12.50 per person fee to ride the Maid of the Mist. Even though Terry is guiding the group tour free of charge, I’d encourage everyone that comes to consider giving Terry some kind of financial gift, as able. Terry takes special time off from his busy job as a security guard to give these guided tours and I’d like to be able to bless Terry and encourage him in his ministry.

Please Reply ASAP
I apologize for the short notice about this field trip but I did not have all of the details for the trip arranged until just recently.

If you are interested in coming on this trip I need to hear back from no later than a week from today (Wednesday, October 1st, 2008).

To learn more, please call or email me at my personal email address jdetwiler@integrity.com or phone (330) 958-2715

Sincerely,
Josiah Detwiler

In the last newsletter, you were challenged to come up with the correct date of the dedication of the Cambodian temple of Ta Prohm. Congratulations to those who won.
The year of dedication was 1186 A.D.

Don Patton and Dennis Swift were the first to bring the stegasaurus carving to the attention of the creation community, this is one of his pictures.

Head on over to Don Patton’s website report on this find, and ask yourself the question:

“How did they know what a stegasaurus looked like in 1186 A.D., when the first stegasaurus was discovered in 1876?”

*****************************
1) Not enough water for Noah’s flood?

I have repeatedly heard skeptics claim that there’s not enough water on earth to flood the whole planet (Just do a google search for “not enough water to flood earth”). I thought that I would take a quick look at this humerous argument for this week’s newsletter.

Let’s start on a far-away planet: Mars.
Mars is a very, very dry place. Here’s a photo from one of the the Mars rovers:

There isn’t a drop of water in sight anywhere - yet when you fly over the planet and look down, you see lots of water erosion! Dendritic patterns, etc…:

Let’s stand back and take a look at the planet. There’s HUGE canyons, which show evidence of being eroded by huge volumes of water (the canyon visible here, the largest known in our solar system, may have been made as a huge fracture in the planet’s crust, and was then eroded by water).

Pretty much everyone agrees that Mars has had a HUGE flood in its past. Yet today, it is bone dry.

Now let’s cruise across our solar system, back to planet earth. When we come to earth, we see lots of dendritic patterns eroded by water:

We also see huge canyons eroded by water, like the Grand Canyon:

Now I like a good joke just as much as the next guy, so let’s stand back and look at the “watery planet:”

…and tell me one more time that there’s not enough water on earth to flood the planet.

Earth is highly unusual in that it contains the highest proportion of water anywhere in the Universe. It is truly laughable to try and argue that there is not enough water on planet earth for Noah’s global flood.

Still other skeptics have repeatedly tried to argue that many of the rock layers around the world had to have been formed by a desert, and not a flood. I deal with some of these arguments in my report on our sedimentology experiments both on a webpage, and in “The Complete Creation” parts 2 & 3. You can see video footage and photos where we made these “desert formations” with flowing water and explained the deposits, and the fossil footprints in them, better than the desert model. Enjoy!

***********************************************************
2) Blog, newsletters & webpage updates

I finally finished overhauling the entire website at around 2 in the morning this past Saturday.
http://ianjuby.org

There’s now a video tour on the index page which will be changed regularly, and also a brand-spankin’ new Blog & Newsletters archive:
http://ianjuby.org/newsletter
You can subscribe to the Blog via RSS feed, but this newsletter will still contain things that won’t be in the Blog until after this newsletter gets archived.
Now I can vent and rant, and sorta-kinda keep everyone informed in an almost up-to-the-minute fashion.

Now, there has been some significant news that has arisen the past couple of days surrounding the Delk track (a fossil human and fossil dinosaur track together in the same rock). Depending on when our report is finished and made public, it may make it onto the Blog first, but chances are I’m going to give the report in a newsletter. So keep checking the blog just in case.

Another bonus resulting from the overhaul of the website is:

Yup - It’s ready and posted!

4) A heck of a lot of apologies to Darwin

There seems to be a heck of a lot of apologies being tossed around by “christians” towards Darwin lately. I am only using the term “christian” loosely here as I hear so many people claim to be a christian (a follower of Christ) while simultaneously they publically doubt the words of this Christ they claim to follow. I know that some of these people are genuine Christians who are simply struggling with their doubts, but I repeatedly heard others cite the actions of some “christian” in their past as a reason to reject Christ. Sadly, I think many of these “christians” they refer to were charlotans who like to call upon the name of Christ, but deny his power (2 Timothy, 3:5, the Holy Bible). Other believers just simply made a mistake in hypocrisy. I’m not going to spend time judging who’s doing what, but there is a lot to be learned from events of this past week:

First, in “celebration” of Darwin’s upcoming 200th birthday, and the 150th anniversary of “Origin of the species,” the “Clergy Project” is inviting churches to participate in celebration of evolution.

Today, the Vatican expressed its dismay that some Christian groups reject evolution:
IndyStar.com article here.

And just this week, the Archbishop of Canterbury gave a public apology to Darwin!
WorldNetDaily’s article here.

Once again, you can see the misunderstanding of science and evolution evident in Archbishop, Dr. Rowan Williams’, comments. Science and evolution are all too often equated as one and the same - when they most certainly are not one and the same. Science is based on observation, repeatability and predictability. Evolution is none of these things - in fact, evolution is a supernatural process by very definition of the word! (For more on this, see “Complete Creation, Parts 12 & 13, available for viewing for free here on my website.)

The Archbishop’s comments are truly revealing: “Charles Darwin, 200 years from your birth, the Church of England owes you an apology for misunderstanding you and, by getting our first reaction wrong, encouraging others to misunderstand you still…”

Ummm… what is there to misunderstand? Darwin wasn’t a scientist - he was a theologian, and even by those standards, he was a heretic! He was flat out wrong then (scientifically and theologically), and he is just as wrong now - so what is there to apologize for…?

Gennaro Auletta, speaking at the Vatican press conference, noted that Popes going back to the mid-20th century have acknowledged evolution as scientifically valuable, but “I would like to point out that unfortunately one cannot say that about the faithful of all Christian confessions, as media reports indicate,…”

Actually, you can’t say that about the secular population in some places! For example, in Alberta, within one year of the Big Valley Creation Science Museum’s grand opening, the general population’s belief in evolution plummeted from a 58% majority to a 37% minority (with the majority of 40% believing young earth creation)! Gee, is that because evolution had nowhere to hide anymore? (see news item #5) Suddenly, evolution comes under public scrutiny, and the majority observing the debate wind up concluding that the earth is young and creation is the better scientific model than evolution! See my blog files on this (my report on the “Angus Reid poll”)

Unfortunately, there are many christians who mistakenly think that evolution, the Bible, and the gospel of Jesus Christ are somehow compatible. Most of these christians have quite innocently assumed it was possible, as they simply did not stop to analyze the premises. I would encourage them to do so. I explain this in more detail in part 7 of the Complete Creation video series.
The “evolution weekend” for the new year should be quite enlightening. Clergy from around the world are being encouraged to celebrate evolution in all it’s glory with their congregations. The founder of the evolution weekend website hopes to repeat past years with “hundreds of congregations around the globe coming together to discuss the compatibility of religion and science.â€?
Notice the catch-word? “Science,” not “evolution,” but “science.” This is a very subtle “bait and switch,” as there is no disagreement there - religion, the Bible, and science are perfectly compatible. It is the adult fairy tale of a frog turning into a prince, contrary to all observable and testable science, that is incompatible with science.

But that’s okay. We’ve got a present or two planned for Darwin on his birthday as well, but I assure you, it isn’t an apology.
***********************************************************
5) British scientist discovers…. open, flagrant bigotry towards creation (OUCH!)

The open, flagrant bigotry towards Darwin doubters and creationary thinkers is not hard to find or see. It is prolific in academia and media, as seen in this screen capture from the “Family guy” program on the right. In this episode, the Doctor pulls out a chart to explain Peter’s IQ test results - Peter was below the “retarded” level, but of course, look who’s at the bottom of the scale.
As you will quickly find out if you are entering into media or academia, you had better toe the pro-Darwinian line, or face the consequences.

A few days ago, my fellow Canadian creationist Paul Gosselin brought a BBC article to my attention :
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/7612152.stm

Professor Michael Reiss was cited as saying that creationism should be discussed in school science classrooms, rather than excluded.
I swear we could hear the
*GASP!*
all the way over here across the pond.
In fact, I suspect it was the sudden inhalation by all of those in academia that caused the sudden drop in barometric pressure, which caused Hurricane Ike.
Blame the Brits I say!

Let this be a lesson to y’all:
Unspoken Academic Rule #1) Do not question evolution publically (I know, I do, but I’m a trained professional - don’t try this at home!)
Unspoken Academic Rule #2) Do not allow Creationism any time in the classroom.

Paul predicted that Prof. Reiss’s comments would cost him dearly, as he had just violated one of the hidden rules of academia by the mere suggestion that creationism should even be acknowledged in the science classroom. How dare he?

Entire books have been written on the subject of this bigotry in academia, and now even a major big screen documentary, “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed,” has been produced. I find that movie title hugely appropriate. The host Ben Stein just simply looks at some of the many instances of the open, flagrant bigotry in academia towards anyone who dares to question evolution. What he does not delve into in detail is the literal rejection of intelligence in the desperate bid to rid science of the obvious evidence Intelligent Design in life!
For example, those same people who so vocally reject Intelligent Design then turn around and use this scientific tool of intelligent design in the SETI project - they use their intelligence to try and detect intelligence in signals coming from outer space!
And yet they are completely unaware of their own hypocrisy.

Dr. Jerry Bergman is an amazing man with multiple doctorates and degrees. He is listed in several issues of “Who’s who,” and he is one of the many who have been stung by this open, flagrant bigotry. His experience, and the stories of oh-so-many others who have been “expelled” from academia inspired his recent book, “Slaughter of the dissidents.” Read Dr. Bergman’s fascinating personal story of conversion from an evolutionist to a young-earth creationist on the Revolution against evolution website.

Well within days, Paul’s predictions came true:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/7619670.stm

Professor Reis was asked to step down from his position as director of education within the Royal Society - even though he claims his comments were simply misinterpreted. I believe him, but this is another in a long list of stunning examples of what happens to those in academia who would even appear to question Darwinism or support creationism in any way.

Evolution must hide from scrutiny behind bigotry and lawyers. No matter what the cost, evolution must never allow itself to be questioned. I like what is written on the walls of the Akron Fossils and Science Center:

“Truth begs for scrutiny, but falsehood begs for tolerance.”

I’m here and questioning evolution, providing numerous lines of irrefutable evidence that falsifies the paradigm of evolution.

***********************************************************

6) Upcoming lectures

I’ll be speaking at the Deep River, Ontario, Pentecostal church on Sunday, September 28th for the morning and evening services, and then at the Madoc Pentecostal church in Madoc, Ontario, October 5th for both the morning and evening services. We’ll have the museum set up for both services. Check the itinerary page later on for future bookings - too much on the go to report right now.

***********************************************************
7) “Complete Creation” additions and updates (oops!)

Ooops! Sorry - there has been a number of new DVD’s available, but somehow the ball got dropped and they didn’t appear on the GenesisWeek website until today. There are a couple of different deals:
Buy any one DVD for $18 (shipping and handling included)
Order any three of the “Complete Creation” DVD’s and get a fourth one free - see the website for instructions.
Pre-order the entire “Complete Creation” set for $150 (shipping and handling included), we’ll send off the DVD’s that have been produced already, and when the entire set is complete, the remaining DVD’s will be sent out.

I don’t as of yet know when the final delivery date will be. There’s been a few minor delays, and the hope is to still have the entire set produced by October.
And of course, don’t forget that you can watch all of these videos for free at my website:
http://ianjuby.org/videos.html

You can order the DVD’s through the GenesisWeek.com website:
FIVE copies of “Reasons to affirm…” booklet

A special welcome to the new subscribers to the newsletter! For this newsletter, we’re going to have FIVE (yes, five) prizes to give away. This week we’re giving away copies of the “Reasons to affirm a young earth” booklet, edited by Paul Humber and packed with information. I was one of the 40+ contributing authors to the booklet, which provides compelling evidence on the young age of the earth in an easy-to-read format.

So, the booklets will be given to the first five people to respond with the correct answer to this question:

The Cambodian temple at Ta Prohm was built by Jayavarman VII. In one of the pillars is a carving of what sure looks like a stegasaurus
(see for yourself in Complete Creation, Part 6)
The prize winning question is:
In what year was this temple dedicated?
(and don’t forget - B.C., or A.D.?)

Be one of the first five to email me at ianjuby@ianjuby.org with the correct answer and you win one of the booklets.

***********************************************************

That’s all folks!

1) Creation/Evolution literature database

For those of you who are more hard-core creation researchers, Josiah Detwiler (director of the Akron Fossils and Science Center in Akron, Ohio) gave me a link to a nifty website this past week. The website explains:

“The Creation-Evolution Literature Database was established in 2001 in response to the need for a freely-available computerized database of literature pertaining to the creation/evolution controversy. Maintained by the Center for Origins Research at Bryan College, CELD’s goal is to archive every periodical ever published about the creation/evolution or religion/science debate.”

And the website is:
2) Dr. Joseph Mastropaolo challenges legality of teaching evolution in U.S. schools

8-21-08

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Should Devolution Replace Evolution in the Science Curricula of Public
Schools?
For nine years Dr. Joseph Mastropaolo, assisted by Mr. Karl Priest,
has methodically examined the evolution controversy. The first phase
of the study was to review the literature. In the last 2,500 years,
there was no scientific evidence to support evolution. What was found
was that spontaneous generation and evolution were attributed to the
occult vitalism of Gaea, the Great Mother Earth. For Phase 2, in
response to obligating requests, individuals and organizations making
public statements in support of evolution refused to send any
scientific evidence. Not one reprint was received. Further in Phase 3,
more than 160 individual evolutionists and more than 363,000 in
evolutionist organizations worldwide defaulted on unlimited $10,000
awards for their scientific evidence in support of evolution. In spite
of the defaults and the biology textbooks omitting footnotes and
references, an analysis of the 65 textbook claims in support of
evolution revealed that 12% were superstitions, 74% were frauds, and
14% were forgeries. There was not one iota of honest scientific
evidence to support evolution.
The scientific facts undoubtedly support litigating evolution out of
the science curricula of government supported public schools. Legally,
evolution violates the state law requiring teaching the truth, for
evolution is the exact opposite of the truth. Evolution also violates
the federal law forbidding the advancement of any religion, including
the Gaea religion which is the origin of spontaneous generation and
evolution, and which provides the occult religious rationale for
spontaneous generation and evolution.
For Phase 4, the nonprofit, International Objective Science
Corporation (IOSC), was formed for the sole purpose of litigating
evolution out of the science curricula of government supported public
schools and to litigate in its place, devolution, the secular absolute
law of the universe.
If a PowerPoint presentation is desired to clarify the issues raised,
Note: An important event regarding the public announcement of
litigating evolution out of the public schools will be held at the
annual Creation Conference of the Kanawha Creation Science Group
(Charleston, WV) in South Charleston, WV on October 3-4, 2008.

3) “In the Minds of Men” - new edition

I know it may sound like my newsletter is becoming an advertising and marketing email instead of an informative one, but honest - I don’t get paid a penny for this! Ian Taylor’s landmark book “In the Minds of Men” filled niche in the creation/evolution community when it was first published in 1984. It is a phenomenal book, and very eye-opening. Well it pleases me greatly to say that after a hiatus (during which the book was no longer available and some used copies were selling for $400!) the book has now been revised into a sixth edition, and is being printed by Creation Moments. For those of you who have heard “Creation moments” on the radio, you’ve heard Ian Taylor: He is the voice of Creation Moments.

Here’s the press release:

IN THE MINDS OF MEN is now back in print !
http://www.creationmoments.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_2&products_id=583&zenid=5165988c1465f503b7f13ad4ab5997df

Ian T. Taylor’s book IN THE MINDS OF MEN: Darwin and the New World Order is
now back in print. It sells for $ 35 plus shipping. When the book was out of
print, I heard that one used copy was offered for $400. Thank God, the book
is now available at a more reasonable price. In my humble opinion, this is
the best overall book regarding the Creation/Evolution issue.

Mr. Taylor’s book has some great information or “trade secrets” of
paleontology. Of course everyone probably knows the one about gaps in the
fossil record. Stephen Jay Gould emphasized that fact in order to promote
his own brand of evolution called “punctuated equilibrium.”

Another big trade secret is that there is NO EVOLUTIONARY ORDER to the
fossil record. The chart of simple organisms on the bottom and complex
organisms on the top is just a hypothetical construct. Mr. Taylor’s edition
will show the textbook chart, used to teach students, and the real chart
used by geologists. The charts are side by side. There is an order of
certain marine fossils according to DENSITY. The order of these marine
fossils is NOT according to evolutionary order.

The book also ties in with a question of epistemology. How do we know the
earth is 4.6 billion years old? It is not by precise scientific
measurements. A committee gets together and decides. In 1940 the committee
decided the earth was 2.0 billion years old. Now it¹s supposed to be 4.6. In
other words the “fact” that the earth is 4.6 billion years old is based on
prestige or supposedly expert opinion. This is nothing new. Sir Charles
Lyell proclaimed the erosion rate, at Niagara Falls, to be at a certain
amount. He never bothered to measure. But because he had the prestigious
title of ³Sir Charles² who would dare question him? I should add that his
title of Sir was due to his land holdings not his scientific endeavors.

How many people take it on the faith that the geologic column is correct?
How many people take the pronouncement of some committee about the earth
being 4.6 billion years old on faith? I am reminded of a saying that a camel
is a horse designed by a committee. But that would be an insult to the
intelligently designed camel.

you can visit the www.creationmoments.com.

*********************************************************************************************************************************
4) French article on design / webpage of the week

Here is the information on the design article.

Recently I just put online an article in French I wrote dealing with the challenge the development of visual systems poses for the evolutionary theory.

Faire de l’oeil: l’apparition de structures complexes..
http://www.samizdat.qc.ca/cosmos/origines/oeil_pg.htm

Some of the complexity arguments I raise may be old hat to some here, but there is a spin I added that deals with a parallel between the complexity involved in visual systems and the complexity involved in computers and video systems (camera to storage to projection).

One assumption evolutionists often make in such matters is that the real problem is developing the first light-sensing system. From that point, the rest is a piece of cake. You just add on refinements and new capabilities.

In my view this is false. If one makes a parallel to the development of computers, in the early days, a couple guys in a garage could produce a working computer. But now things have so advanced that the complexity of computers being produced requires huge teams of people working of various components.

MORE INTELLIGENCE (not less) is required at each step of the way in gaining in complexity.

So the demand for the intervention of an Intelligent Agent, become more and more at each step.

and the web site is:

God bless!

5) Youtube pick of the week: The Dawkins Delusion

I’ve decided to add a “Youtube” and/or “Godtube” pick of the week to these newsletters.
Richard Dawkins, for those of you not familiar with him, is probably one of the (if not THE) most outspoken atheists around today. Author of “The God Delusion” he adamantly argues that God does not exist, and in fact belief in God is a dangerous delusion.

A funny interview with Dr. Tommyrot takes Dawkin’ arguments and turns them on their head, arguing that in fact, Dawkins does not exist, and believing in Dawkins is actually a dangerous delusion:

*********************************************************************************************************************************
6) More failed attempts to discredit the “Delk track”

In the past couple of weeks, the video I posted on youtube explaining the “Delk track” (the fossil human footprint stepped upon by a dinosaur) has raised a ruckus, climbing to #1 most discussed video on youtube Canada in the Nonprofits and activism category, #5 most discussed on ALL of youtube in the same category. One skeptic with some knowledge of CT scans laid out some convincing arguments that our interpretations of the CT scans were questionable. His arguments were typical of the anti-creationist type and full of huge errors. Read the response here:

http://www.ianjuby.org/delk/commentary.html

In particular, the closing remarks on why such major mistakes are so often made by anti-creationists.

Of course, for those who missed it, here’s the address for my “official” Delk track information page:
http://ianjuby.org/delk

*********************************************************************************************************************************

7) “Complete Creation” Video series

Almost done - I’m getting there. Parts 1 through 14 are now all available on line, pre-ordering of the DVD’s can be made via the genesisweek.com website. You can view all 14 videos via my “new and improved” website:

Answer to the contest: Archeoraptor & the “feathered dinosaurs”

In the last newsletter, we had a competition asking about a certain “feathered dinosaur” that turned out to be a hoax. That fossil was known as Archaeoraptor. While it is certainly not my intention to embellish mistakes made by the evolutionists, the problem is that their propaganda machine is so effective that I still get asked about Archaeoraptor to this day! Archaeoraptor does not in any way support the idea that dinosaurs evolved into birds, but that subject is one that will have to wait for another newsletter.
